Pirityiset run their own development programme that aims to advance local enterpreneurship and encourage communal activities. The programme is called ”Village on Earth” and it focuses on cultural, food, travel and well-being industries. The programme also focuses on young people, women and elderly people. The Village on Earth programme is a part of the Rural Development Programme for Mainland Finland 2007 - 2013.
